About This Role

Operate and set up thermoplastic extruders to produce precision-engineered hose and tubing for critical systems in aerospace, defense, and renewable energy, ensuring quality and durability.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate thermo-plastic extruders and auxiliary equipment according to engineering specifications; make immediate corrections where possible
  • Utilize a variety of precision measuring instruments, performing all required testing and recording all pertinent information and ensuring quality standards are met
  • Determine appropriate changeover of tooling to ensure proper dimensions according to specifications
  • Monitor machines and process, reporting irregularities to Lead or Supervisor for problem identification and resolution
  • Perform material handling for each assigned process
  • Document, log, compile reports as required and/or requested
  • Participate in area and process team projects and activities

Requirements

  • HS diploma or GED
  • Mathematical aptitude and proficiency
  • Keyboarding skills
  • Measurement skills, including use of precision measuring tools and equipment
  • Attention to detail, and ability to troubleshoot for process and product improvement
  • Effective English verbal communication and listening skills
  • Problem solving skills and ability to work under pressure
  • Successful prioritizing and management of work projects
  • Ability to stand for 8+ hours during a shift
  • Ability to wear required PPE such as safety shoes, eye protection (glasses/goggles), hearing protection, safety vests, and gloves
  • Frequent use of hands for tasks such as using safety scissors, bending tubing, taping tube, and connecting hose assemblies
  • Ability to sort items by size, shape, and color
  • Ability to push, pull, kneel, and squat
  • Ability to lift up to 45 pounds safely
  • Ability to perceive color accurately and hear plant paging, alarms, and other important auditory signals

Qualifications

  • HS diploma or GED required

Nice to Have

  • Machine operation experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Some knowledge of MS Office software
  • Ability to operate forklift and manual and electric jack
