About This Role

Special Education Teachers for the Extended School Year Summer Program will prepare and instruct students in small groups and individualized work for reading and math, per IEP goals. This role involves guiding the learning process, creating engaging classroom environments, and collaborating with colleagues to improve instructional effectiveness.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and instruct students in small groups and individualized work for reading and math per IEP goals
  • Write IEP Goals and Objectives
  • Demonstrate knowledge of MA Department of Early Education and Care/DESE standards for educating children
  • Plan instruction based upon explicit goals and communicate objectives to students
  • Employ a variety of instructional strategies considering individual learning styles and performance levels
  • Assess student learning regularly using formative assessment and provide reports of student progress
  • Create an engaging, orderly, secure, and appealing classroom-learning environment
  • Communicate student progress and development to parents
  • Provide written assessments, referrals, and evaluations for students with special needs and participate in IEP meetings
  • Attend staff or team meetings and serve on staff committees as necessary
  • Collaborate with colleagues to improve curriculum and instructional effectiveness for all students

Requirements

  • Experience with ABA

Qualifications

  • Master's Degree Preferred in Special Education
