About This Role

This Executive Director role provides strategic leadership and financial oversight for Valeo, a faith-based counseling organization. The director will cultivate donor relationships and foster a healthy culture to advance the mission of supporting Christian global workers and their families.

Responsibilities

  • Provide vision and direction for the organization in alignment with Valeo’s mission, vision, and core values
  • Ensure the organization operates efficiently and effectively, maintaining focus on long-term goals
  • Collaborate with the board on governance, policy, and mission execution
  • Cultivate and grow the donor base to support operational needs and on-field initiatives
  • Develop and implement a robust fundraising strategy, including donor engagement and stewardship
  • Oversee budgeting, financial planning, and reporting
  • Foster a healthy, relational, and collaborative work environment
  • Supervise and support four direct reports, providing guidance, mentorship, and accountability
  • Serve as public representative and spokesperson for Valeo at conferences, partner events, and in broader missions networks
  • Ensure core services (counseling, psychiatry, retreats, intensives, telehealth) maintain high quality and consistency
  • Maintain a balance between stewardship of existing programs and careful, growth-focused innovation

Requirements

  • Senior nonprofit leadership experience
  • Track record in fundraising
  • Familiarity and deep passion for global missions work
  • Appreciation for telehealth and mental health services
  • Proven ability to lead teams, work with boards, and foster healthy organizational culture
  • Strong leadership, emotional intelligence, and relational skills
  • Ability to fundraise, engage donors, and manage finances
  • Understanding of counseling/mental health integration with faith
  • Excellent communication, public representation, and team-building abilities
  • Skilled at strategic planning, decision-making, and maintaining organizational culture
  • Humble, teachable, and emotionally mature
  • Passionate about serving Christian global workers and their families
  • Collaborative, empowering, and relationally grounded
  • Aligned with Valeo’s statement of faith, mission, vision, and core values
  • Stewardship-minded

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; advanced degree preferred (e.g., Nonprofit Management, Business Administration)
  • 3-5+ years in senior nonprofit leadership, ideally with fundraising experience
