Estimator, OSP Construction

About This Role

The Project Estimator is responsible for managing the pre-sales pipeline and creating project cost estimates for fiber and telecommunication networks. This role involves estimating costs for engineering, designing, and building, including subcontractor and material supplier expenses.

Responsibilities

• Market Congruex to existing and new customers and secure jobs and contracts
• Read blueprints and accurately generate material takeoffs
• Presurvey job sites to aid in the preparation of bid proposals
• Generate bid proposals using various software applications
• Negotiate contracts with customers
• Prepare pre-construction and post-construction job information sheets
• Conduct pre-construction meetings with project managers, foremen, and key departments
• Monitor job progress through constant communication with project managers and customers
• Evaluate equipment and labor cost information for use in preparing bids
• Report monthly, quarterly, and yearly productivity reports for the Business Manager

Requirements

• 3-5+ years OSP, Engineering, or Construction project estimating experience
• Thorough understanding of fiber engineering and construction methods such as underground and aerial
