Estimator

About This Role

The Estimator at CCI Mechanical, Inc. will be responsible for preparing accurate and comprehensive estimates for mechanical HVAC, piping, and plumbing systems for commercial and industrial projects. This role involves analyzing project documentation, coordinating with vendors, and utilizing estimating software to ensure competitive and detailed proposals.

Responsibilities

• File, store, and retrieve all hard-copy and electronic documents generated during the bidding process in compliance with company document control policies.
• Maintain electronic file storage portal for vendors and subcontractors to access bidding documents.
• Analyze plans, specifications, RFPs, RFQ's and other documentation for population of estimates/proposals.
• Perform take-off of mechanical HVAC, piping, and plumbing systems.
• Communicate with vendors and subcontractors to coordinate timely receipt of proposals and obtain cost estimates.
• Evaluate vendor and subcontractor scopes of work for estimates.
• Utilize current estimate software to input vendor/subcontractor proposals and labor, material, and equipment estimates.
• Draft detailed proposals and scope letters.
• Follow awarded contracts, including estimating additional work items like value engineering and change orders.
• Prepare accurate sheet metal, piping, and labor estimates.
• Assist in developing detailed lists of qualifications, clarifications, and exclusions for client communication.
• Provide input on productivity factors and coordinate/attend estimate review and turnover meetings.
• Establish and maintain good client, vendor, and subcontractor relationships.

Requirements

• 5+ years experience in Mechanical HVAC/Plumbing construction industry as a craftsperson
• Proficient in mechanical estimating software (QuoteSoft/Express preferred)
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel (basic calculations and formula comprehension)
• Strong organizational and self-management skills
• Ability to read and interpret contract documents, engineered drawings, specifications, RFQ's, RFP's and bid documents

Qualifications

• 5+ years experience working in Mechanical HVAC/Plumbing construction industry as a craftsperson
