Epic Senior Consultant

About This Role

Join Deloitte's AI & Engineering team as a Senior Epic Consultant to transform healthcare technology platforms, drive innovation, and improve client success. This role involves reimagining operations and processes to enhance financial performance and accelerate digital ventures for healthcare clients.

Responsibilities

• Lead workstreams within larger engagements, analyzing information, testing hypotheses, and developing actionable recommendations.
• Present recommendations to client stakeholders and implement solutions.
• Perform Epic software analysis, design, configuration, testing, and implementation, as well as application support and issue resolution.
• Interact with Operational and IT personnel to identify, evaluate, and configure systems to meet user and organizational requirements.
• Maintain high credibility and ownership of system activities within assigned application.
• Work directly with Operations to provide input on system design and capabilities.
• Develop system design, including functional specifications and strategies, based on the analysis of specific operational needs.

Requirements

• 4+ years of professional experience in healthcare or consulting
• 4+ years of experience with large scale healthcare system implementations (EHRs, clinical, revenue cycle systems)
• 4+ years in a client-facing role, collaborating with others as a partner or liaison
• 4+ years of experience with healthcare implementation lifecycle (system selection, implementation sequencing, project management, application & technical design, interface & data conversion, application build, environment management, testing, go live planning)
• Epic certifications and/or experience implementing Epic applications (Clinical, Revenue Cycle or Technical)
• Experience leading or supporting multiple Epic implementations
• Experience with EHR vendors such as Epic, Cerner and Allscripts
• Proficiency with Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel
• Ability to travel 50%, on average

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree
• 4+ years of professional experience in a health care or consulting setting; 4+ years of experience with large scale healthcare system implementations; 4+ years in a client-facing role; 4+ years of experience with various phases of the healthcare implementation lifecycle.

Nice to Have

• Advanced Degree such as MBA or MHA
• Experience conducting interviews with key stakeholders to understand and document current business processes
• Experience defining future state business processes
• Experience planning, tracking, and delivering projects using Microsoft Project and documenting processes in Microsoft Visio
• Experience managing and delivering via an Agile/Scrum methodology
• General understanding or familiarity with virtual health, cloud, interoperability, data analytics, and/or automation
