Environmental Services Manager, Hospital

About This Role

This role is responsible for directing and overseeing all operational aspects of the EVS department at a 40,000-square-foot surgical facility. The manager will provide hands-on leadership to a team of 5 EVS associates, ensuring high standards of cleanliness, safety, and service excellence.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of 5 associates in all aspects of the environmental services department
• Develop and recommend department operating budget and ensure the department operates within budget
• Coordinate housekeeping activities with other departments
• Plan, organize, direct, coordinate, and supervise functions and activities of the department
• Establish work standards and work flow
• Establish and implement policies and procedures for departmental operations
• Encourage and mentor staff creativity and innovation
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory agencies
• Be proactive in the achievement of the facility goals and objectives
• Demonstrate quality leadership in meeting performance plans

Qualifications

• 1 or more years of supervisory/management experience preferably in a hospital or healthcare setting

• Environmental services/housekeeping experience
• 1 or more years of supervisory/management experience preferably in a hospital or healthcare setting
• Strong work ethic, drive, and initiative for quality and customer service
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Excellent problem-solving skills both one-on-one and in group situations
• Ability to utilize a participative approach to managing staff
• Understanding of budgeting processes and awareness of profit and loss concepts
• Excellent administrative and organizational skills and the ability to prioritize
• Ability to function appropriately under stressful conditions
• CRCST or any other applicable sterile processing certification is preferred
• Proficient computer skills and knowledge of MS Office products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and internet
