The Environmental Services Aide performs various housekeeping duties including cleaning patient rooms, offices, and operating rooms, changing bed linens, and removing trash and hazardous materials within a hospital setting.
Responsibilities
- Clean patient rooms, offices, operating rooms, and lobbies
- Change bed linens
- Sweep, vacuum, mop, and buff floors
- Remove trash and hazardous materials
- Adhere to department and hospital safety practices and procedures
- Follow patient rights and infection control policies
- Handle, store, use, and dispose of hazardous materials properly
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 6 months of experience in janitorial or custodial work
Qualifications
- Equivalent to graduation from high school
- Six (6) months of experience in janitorial or custodial work.
Nice to Have
- 1 year recent documented EVS experience in a Hospital/Acute Care Setting
- 1 year recent documented EVS experience in Hotel Industry
- Experience with Isolation Protocols
- Experience with biohazard waste, handling & cleaning of infectious materials
- Availability to work all shifts, including graveyard, seven (7) days a week
- Ability to work 8 or 10 hour shifts
