The Environmental Services Aide II is responsible for maintaining the safety and cleanliness of Brigham and Women's Hospital by performing various cleaning and maintenance tasks, contributing to a high-performing team that supports patient care.
Responsibilities
- Sweep, mop, wax, strip, and polish floors; vacuum and shampoo carpets
- Dust and polish furniture, woodwork, fixtures, and equipment
- Wash walls, ceilings, woodwork, door panels, windows, sills, blinds, and door glass
- Empty, clean, and sanitize waste receptacles in assigned areas
- Clean and sanitize restroom facilities and fixtures, replenishing supplies as needed
- Pick up debris around the building
- Operate and control high and low speed stripping/buffing machines
- Set up tables, chairs, and equipment for special events and normal hospital activities
- Identify and report building maintenance needs in assigned buildings and facilities
Requirements
- 2-3 years experience working with cleaning equipment and chemicals in hospitals/healthcare centers
- Strong organization skills with attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work independently and as a team player
- Good communication and comprehension skills
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred
- 2-3 years of experience working with the cleaning equipment and chemicals used in hospitals and healthcare centers
