This Enterprise Architect role provides strategic leadership and technical guidance for application rationalization and cost optimization. It ensures the application portfolio aligns with business objectives, is technically sound, and supports future scalability. The role defines architectures, sets standards, and shapes modernization strategies while advising leadership.
Responsibilities
- Lead the alignment of application rationalization efforts with the enterprise’s overall architecture strategy
- Define and maintain current and target state architectures, architectural standards, reference architectures, and modernization roadmaps
- Ensure application portfolio decisions are technically sound, cost-effective, and aligned with business priorities
- Partner with Program Managers, Business Analysts, and Application Analysts to validate recommendations and ensure compliance with architecture principles
- Provide guidance on integration strategies, cloud adoption, microservices, and containerization approaches
- Influence and engage executives and stakeholders to drive adoption of architectural recommendations
- Evaluate emerging technologies and assess their applicability to business and technology strategies
- Act as a bridge between technical teams and business stakeholders, ensuring clarity, alignment, and transparency in decision-making
- Support governance, reporting, and program objectives to demonstrate progress and value realization
- Mentor and collaborate with other architects to build organizational capability in enterprise architecture
Requirements
- Extensive experience in enterprise architecture roles
- Hands-on expertise in design patterns, frameworks, and solution architecture
- Strong knowledge of enterprise architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF, Zachman, or similar)
- Proven experience with cloud architectures, containerization, and microservices-based systems
- Experience working in financial services or similarly regulated industries
- Demonstrated ability to align IT strategy and architecture with business objectives
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence at the executive level
- Excellent communication skills, capable of bridging complex technical concepts with business context
- Track record of successfully leading architecture initiatives in large, complex environments
- Experience standardizing application portfolio management practices
- Exposure to transformation programs involving large-scale application rationalization
Qualifications
- Extensive (senior-level) experience in enterprise architecture roles with hands-on expertise in design patterns, frameworks, and solution architecture.
