Engineering Supervisor - Public Improvement Engineering

About This Role

Supervise engineering activities related to planning, analysis, and design of interferences on public improvement projects. Solve complex engineering problems and coordinate with internal departments and external agencies to ensure solutions are met efficiently and safely within established time frames.

Responsibilities

• Ensure implementation of Company safety, health, and environmental programs
• Commit to the Way We Work Principles and adheres to the Company's Standards of Business Conduct
• Develop a proactive, customer-centric culture to foster trust and confidence among customers
• Perform Safety talks, OJTs and ensures implementation of company safety, health, and environmental programs for subordinates
• Represent the company at meetings with government agencies, utility coordination meetings, private developers, contractors, engineering consultants
• Assign work and establish time frames for ruling on interference projects
• Evaluate various methods to minimize expenditures and to maintain system integrity
• Supervise layout preparation, cost estimates, appropriation, and Gas Cost Sharing, Joint Bid, and Section U packages
• Ensure direct reports work activities are performed in a safe and efficient manner and in accordance with established policies and procedures
• Coordinate with the Public Improvement Construction personnel during pre-engineering and construction stages

Requirements

• Work experience and knowledge of the electric, gas and steam distribution system
• Strong knowledge of company facilities plates
• Computer Literacy with proficiency in Word and Excel
• Knowledge of Auto-Cad, Micro Station and Visions
• Knowledge or experienced with the preparation of capital appropriation documents

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or Computer Science
• Minimum of 2 years experience in engineering, electric, gas, steam or construction with a Bachelor's degree OR 4 years experience with an Associate's degree.

Nice to Have

• Experience especially in Public Improvement
• Supervisory experience
• Understanding of the Work Management System and Logica software
