As an Engineering Manager, you will lead engineering teams in delivering high-quality, outcome-focused software solutions that delight customers and drive value for Deloitte's business investments. You will foster a culture of engineering excellence by mentoring teams, leading technical discussions, and contributing hands-on to design and code.
Responsibilities
- Embrace and drive a culture of accountability for customer and business outcomes, leading engineering teams to deliver solutions that solve complex problems
- Serve as the technical advocate for products and engineering teams, promoting and supporting evolutionary releases
- Foster a culture of engineering excellence within the team, being hands-on with design, configuration, and code part of the time
- Work daily with engineering teams to resolve issues, perform code reviews, maintain coding standards, and address technical debt
- Lead engineering teams to develop lean solutions through rapid, inexpensive experimentation to solve customer needs
- Engage with customers and product teams to deliver the right solution for the product
- Utilize a leaning-forward approach to navigate complexity and uncertainty, delivering lean, supportable, and maintainable solutions
- Work collaboratively with empowered, cross-functional teams including product management, experience, delivery, infrastructure, and security
- Quickly acquire domain-specific knowledge relevant to the business or product, translating business and user needs into engineering plans
- Exhibit exceptional communication skills, articulating complex technical concepts clearly and compellingly
Requirements
- 10+ years proven experience with programming languages like Angular, React, NodeJS, Python, Streamlit, C#, .NET Core, Golang, SQL/NoSQL, unit testing frameworks
- 5 years' experience in managing engineering teams in product engineering organizations from inception to delivery
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with cloud-native engineering, using FaaS/PaaS/micro-services on cloud hyper-scalers like Azure, AWS, and GCP
- Excellent software engineering and product architecture/design foundation with deep understanding of Business Context Diagrams (BCD), sequence/activity/state/ER/DFD diagrams, OOP/OOD, data-structures, algorithms, code instrumentations
- Deep understanding of methodologies & tools like, XP, Lean, SAFe, DevSecOps, SRE, ADO, GitHub, SonarQube
Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related discipline
- 10+ years proven experience with programming languages and 5 years managing engineering teams in product engineering organizations
Nice to Have
- An advanced degree (e.g., MS)
- 3+ years of experience with AI/ML and GenAI
