Engineering Manager - Product Engineering A&A

About This Role

As an Engineering Manager, you will lead engineering teams in delivering high-quality, outcome-focused software solutions that delight customers and drive value for Deloitte's business investments. This role requires hands-on engagement in engineering craft, technical leadership, and mentoring to foster a culture of engineering excellence across cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Embrace and drive a culture of accountability for customer and business outcomes, leading engineering teams to deliver solutions with valuable outcomes, high-quality, lean designs, and implementations
• Serve as the technical advocate for products and engineering teams, promoting and supporting evolutionary releases (e.g., alpha, beta, MVP), ensuring proper planning, code integrity, quality, alignment with customer goals, architecture designs, and NFRs
• Foster a culture of engineering excellence, being hands-on with design, configuration, and/or code part of the time, contributing to team velocity
• Work daily with engineering teams to resolve issues, blockers, or impediments, perform code reviews, maintain coding standards, and ensure technical debt is addressed continuously
• Engage with customers and product teams to deliver lean solutions through rapid, inexpensive experimentation and ensure the right solution for the product at the right time
• Collaborate with empowered, cross-functional teams including product management, experience, delivery, infrastructure, and security to make well-informed decisions
• Act as a role model, leveraging advanced software engineering practices, Agile methodologies, DevSecOps, CI/CD, and deployment techniques to optimize solutioning and product delivery
• Quickly acquire domain-specific knowledge, translating business and user needs into engineering plans and navigating various enterprise functions
• Exhibit exceptional communication skills, articulating complex technical concepts, and inspiring stakeholders through well-structured arguments and alignment of solutions with business objectives
• Engage and collaborate with stakeholders at all organizational levels to build constructive relationships, foster co-creation, and drive consensus towards product goals

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or related discipline
• Excellent software engineering and product architecture/design foundation (OOP/OOD, data-structures, algorithms, code instrumentations)
• 10+ years proven experience with programming languages (Angular, React, NodeJS, Python, Streamlit, C#, .NET Core, Golang, SQL/NoSQL, unit testing frameworks)
• 5+ years experience managing engineering teams in product engineering organizations from inception to delivery
• 5+ years of hands-on experience with cloud-native engineering (FaaS/PaaS/micro-services on Azure, AWS, GCP)
• Deep understanding of methodologies & tools like XP, Lean, SAFe, DevSecOps, SRE, ADO, GitHub, SonarQube
• Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, ability to handle diverse situations, complex projects, and changing priorities

Qualifications

• A bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related discipline
• 10+ years proven experience with programming languages like Angular, React, NodeJS, Python, Streamlit, C#, .NET Core, Golang, SQL/NoSQL, unit testing frameworks with 5 years' experience in managing engineering teams in product engineering organizations from inception to delivery.

Nice to Have

• Advanced degree (e.g., MS)
• 3+ years of experience with AI/ML and GenAI
