Engineer, Sr Lead (Nuc)

About This Role

Provide technical expertise for emergent nuclear safety issues, augment station resources, and assist sites in problem solving. Critically challenge assumptions and decisions to ensure nuclear safety.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical expertise for emergent issues in support of or beyond the technical capabilities or resources of the stations
• Augment nuclear station resources for special issues
• Assist the sites in problem solving
• Critically challenge assumptions and decisions that can affect nuclear safety
• Coordinate with industry and assist in developing site long-range strategies in collaboration with nuclear station personnel for significant site problems
• Leverage industry and site resources to resolve key technical issues and develop optimal fleet strategies to address issues
• Establish and communicate vision, mission, strategies, expectations, decisions, and transition plans

Requirements

• B.S. Degree in Electrical Engineering or closely related scientific discipline / physical science
• 7+ years experience in nuclear power design, operations, or equivalent
• Technical understanding of nuclear generation principles and operations
• Outstanding communication and conflict management skills
• Proficiency with current computer business applications

Qualifications

• B.S. Degree in Electrical Engineering or other closely related scientific discipline / physical science generally associated with power plant operations, or equivalent work experience
• 7+ years experience in nuclear power design, operations, or equivalent for a Sr Lead Engineer

Nice to Have

• Nuclear Industry Engineering Change Packages qualification (IP-ENG-001)
• Previous experience in Operations IT, Design or Systems engineering teams implementing engineering modifications
• Proficiency in computer codes that support Nuclear Design (e.g., ANSYS, ETAP, ME101, PipeFlo, MathCad, PDMS)
• Professional Engineering license
• SRO license or certification on a PWR or BWR
