Energy Storage - Electrical Commissioning Engineer I and II

About This Role

Join the Energy Storage Group providing electrical technical support throughout the entire construction project. You will assist in creating commissioning plans, performing field visits, and supporting system tests for energy storage systems.

Responsibilities

• Review owner project requirements
• Assist in performing scope reviews
• Assist in creating commissioning plans, checklists, and tests
• Perform field visits and observe commissioning inspections and tests where prescribed means and methods are provided
• Assist in writing issue descriptions and field reports
• Assist in creating Systems Manuals
• Effectively work and build relationships with those of diverse backgrounds and organizational levels
• Support planning and execution of system tests, including NETA, SCADA, controls, and operations verification of energy storage systems

Requirements

• Detail orientation sufficient to organize and manage multiple project tasks
• Basic understanding of key construction documents and their relationship to construction Project Management and Field Executions
• Basic understanding of how design, construction, start-up, and turnover align within the project delivery process
• Basic understanding of key construction documents and their relationship to Quality Control/Quality Assurance (QA/QC)
• Fundamental knowledge of commissioning processes and commissioning process delivery
• Ability to conceptually relate the construction deliverable to the commissioning deliverable
• Microsoft Office, project, and pertinent web application skills at an intermediate level
• Ability to interpret and communicate Mortenson policies
• Positive and professional attitude, and strong customer service skills
• Active listening skills and effective communication including an openness to diverse input and feedback
• Ability to travel 100% or on rotation
• Current driver’s license

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or similar technical field or equivalent field experience
• Minimum one year of construction management or commissioning experience, preferably with a MEP Contractor, Commissioning firm (for Engineer I); Minimum three years in electrical construction management or electrical design (for Engineer II)

Nice to Have

• Utility experience preferred
• Working knowledge of NEC code and NE safety code
