About This Role

The Employment Specialist will work directly with individuals to assess their employment needs and goals, provide job readiness training, and deliver one-on-one career counseling, helping them secure long-term employment. This role supports individuals in transitioning from homelessness to stable housing by connecting them with job opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Assess individual employment needs and goals
  • Provide job readiness training
  • Deliver one-on-one career counseling
  • Conduct interviews to understand participant skills and experience
  • Create tailored employment plans for program participants
  • Offer skill development workshops
  • Connect individuals with job opportunities and employer networks
  • Maintain accurate records of participant progress and outcomes
  • Collaborate with community organizations to leverage resources
  • Provide post-placement support to ensure long-term employment success

Requirements

  • Strong skills in Communication and Customer Service
  • Expertise in Interviewing and Recruiting
  • Experience in Training
  • Ability to work collaboratively and bring a solution-oriented approach
  • Proficiency with relevant digital tools and record-keeping systems

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Human Services, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.

Nice to Have

  • Familiarity with employment resources and community organizations in the Bronx area
