The Elementary School Dean is a licensed professional responsible for designing and delivering learning experiences for students, focusing on literacy and mathematics, and fostering a safe and inclusive learning environment. This role involves facilitating student progress, adapting teaching for diverse needs, and collaborating with families to support academic, civic, social, and emotional success.
Responsibilities
- Design and deliver learning experiences for students in a grade level and/or content area
- Organize and facilitate the learning process using evidence-based instructional practices and technology
- Participate in a community of learning to develop and refine knowledge and skills for student success
- Consistently evaluate student progress, make appropriate adjustments, and communicate progress
- Regularly collaborate, reflect, and grow to improve learning opportunities for students
- Provide instruction aligned with Colorado Academic Standards and the organized plan of instruction
- Develop and implement lessons that connect to various content areas and disciplines, emphasizing literacy and mathematical practices
- Establish a safe, inclusive, and respectful learning environment for a diverse population of students
- Engage students as individuals, including those with diverse needs and interests, across various ability levels
- Work collaboratively with families and/or significant adults for the benefit of students
Requirements
- Bachelor's (Baccalaureate) degree (e.g., B.A., A.B., B.S.)
- Meets subject, grade level, and/or content area qualifications consistent with Colorado Department of Education and Academy District 20 requirements
- Colorado Department of Education Initial Teacher License
- Colorado Department of Education Professional Teacher License
- Commitment to the education of students as a primary responsibility
- Computer proficiency including office productivity applications
- Knowledge of Special Education, other educational programming, and associated legal requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor's (Baccalaureate) degree (e.g., B.A., A.B., B.S.)
Nice to Have
- Master's degree (e.g., M.A., M.S., M.Eng, M.Ed, M.S.W., M.B.A., M.L.S.)
- Colorado Department of Education Initial Principal License
- Colorado Department of Education Professional Principal License
