The Editorial Assistant will provide comprehensive editorial support for the Learning Policy Institute's research publications and communication materials. This role ensures accuracy, clarity, and consistency across all content, working closely with the Communications and research teams.
Responsibilities
- Provide thorough developmental and later-stage editorial support for reports and research-related materials
- Conduct structural editing, sentence-level copyediting, proofreading, and quality construction checks for publications
- Collaborate with Communications and research teams to develop, improve, and implement editing processes and resources
- Assist the Publications Manager in moving publications through the entire production process, from peer review to final publication
- Coordinate with authors, track timelines, review manuscript drafts, and prepare files for layout
- Ensure adherence to style guidelines and publication standards
- Edit in-house materials needing quick turnaround, such as blogs, fact sheets, event collateral, presentation materials, eblasts, newsletters, president’s reports, annual reports, funder reports, and proposals
Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience editing
- Proficiency with editing tools in Microsoft Word and Adobe Acrobat
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Ability to effectively manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
- Proven ability to work as part of a team, with exceptional collaboration skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Authorized to work in the United States for any employer
- Up to date on COVID-19 vaccinations for onsite work
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- At least 3 years of experience editing
Nice to Have
- Familiarity with the field of education
- Familiarity with APA Style
- Familiarity with Monday.com
