As a Dynamic FEA Engineer, you will perform advanced Finite Element Analysis (FEA) simulations to evaluate dynamic behavior and performance of mechanical systems. This role contributes to ensuring structural integrity, reliability, and performance optimization of products by collaborating with the engineering team.
Responsibilities
- Conduct dynamic FEA simulations and analyses to assess structural behavior and response of mechanical systems under various dynamic loading conditions
- Inspect the CAD data received from designers prior to meshing
- Independently mesh components using Altair tools and ensure quality checks for meshing at Safran Seats USA
- Set up models for static, quasi static, and Dynamic impact simulation for 16 and 14G loading conditions using Altair tools and/or LS-Prepost
- Analyze test data to implement proper engineering approach into the FE model for further improvements
- Ensure FEA models and simulations comply with industry standards, best practices, and customer requirements
- Analyze and interpret FEA results to identify potential design flaws, weaknesses, and areas for improvement, validating models with tests and establishing correlation
- Perform FEA on detail parts and assemblies to verify compliance with structural and occupant Safety Requirements
- Develop and implement appropriate modeling techniques, boundary conditions, and material properties to accurately simulate real-world dynamic scenarios with limited supervision
- Perform necessary linear/non-linear static analysis and dynamic simulation
Requirements
- Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or Aeronautical Engineering or related OR Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or Aeronautical Engineering or related
- 2+ years of Finite Element Analysis related experience using LS-Dyna or Radioss (with Master's)
- 3+ years of Finite Element Analysis related experience using LS-Dyna or Radioss (with Bachelor's)
- Experience using Altair HyperWorks suite
- Strong background in basic structural engineering (free body diagrams and strength of materials)
- Broad understanding of finite element analysis and fatigue methods
- Knowledge of seat belt modeling
- Well-versed in understanding the kinematic of hybrid II/III dummy model
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Ability to communicate efficiently in writing and verbally
- Ability to generate technical reports
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or Aeronautical Engineering or related, OR a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or Aeronautical Engineering or related
- 2+ years of Finite Element Analysis related experience using LS-Dyna or Radioss with a Master's degree, or 3+ years with a Bachelor's degree
