About This Role

This Director, Team Lead role focuses on global scientific and value content within Immunology, specifically in the Value & Implementation (V&I) organization. The role involves leading a team of professionals to develop and execute content plans, incorporating medical insights, and driving team effectiveness while ensuring alignment with strategic priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership, resources, and direction to a team of professionals with advanced educational backgrounds and therapeutic area (TA) expertise
  • Oversee the development and execution of GSVC plans for TAs, aligning with Annual V&I Plans and the Scientific Platform
  • Translate Global Medical objectives into scientific content strategy and plans, serving as a TA/product point of contact for senior-level stakeholders
  • Lead the incorporation of medical insights and feedback from key stakeholders into annual GSVC product plans and associated content
  • Drive the effectiveness of the TA team through leadership, assessing, determining, and adjusting TA resourcing based on priorities
  • Lead and/or commission the development of operational solutions and process improvements to ensure consistency in approach to core functions
  • Manage individuals/teams responsible for content development in a global, cross-functional setting
  • Represent the Immunology GSVC team at company, divisional-level, and V&I initiatives and programs
  • Build collaborative relationships across divisions and regions to provide scientific resources informing patient-care and treatment decisions
  • Direct and oversee the daily tasks and operations of team members by providing guidance and assigning tasks

Requirements

  • Advanced degree (PharmD/PhD/MD) with 8+ years Medical Affairs/Medical Communications/Scientific Content Development experience OR Master’s Degree in Life Sciences with 10+ years relevant medical communications experience
  • 2+ years people management/project management experience
  • 3+ years experience in Immunology therapeutic area
  • Proficiency in managing projects and vendors
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral)
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work in a complex, team-oriented global structure
  • Proven ability leading multi-functional teams with strong networking and cross-functional management skills
  • Experience managing projects and budgets effectively, including global projects
  • Proven leadership, matrix management, and influence/negotiation skills
  • Knowledge of the publications process and scientific platform development
  • Expertise in Immunology therapeutic area
  • Experience working within multiple regional regulations and compliance requirements
  • Proficiency in scientific writing and verbal communications
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to translate strategy into action plans

Qualifications

  • Advanced degree (PharmD/PhD/MD) or Master’s Degree in Life Sciences
  • Minimum eight (8) years of Medical Affairs/Medical Communications/Scientific Content Development with an advanced degree, or minimum ten (10) years of relevant medical communications experience with a Master’s Degree; Minimum two (2) years people management/project management experience; Minimum three (3) years experience in Immunology therapeutic area.
