About This Role

This role involves interacting with customers face-to-face to understand their needs and provide appropriate solutions for Companion Animal products in the Cookeville & Oak Ridge areas of Tennessee. It requires building relationships with veterinary clinics, shelter facilities, and corporate accounts, driving sales growth, and ensuring the company is seen as a valuable partner in animal health.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate about the product portfolio in a meaningful way, customizing discussions based on customer needs
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned customers, meeting with key personnel to understand practice structure and identify business opportunities
  • Develop customer strategies, outlining interactions, solutions, and potential offerings to drive sales growth
  • Develop territory and specific account plans for key customers, partnering with National and Corporate Account Managers to maintain focus on key accounts
  • Collaborate across all species teams to enhance knowledge of the entire Animal Health product portfolio
  • Share knowledge with other team members within the region to foster growth and development
  • Analyze monthly sales results and manage expenses within budget guidelines
  • Identify and select programs/services within Animal Health resources to address customer needs and provide education & training
  • Work with leadership and Field Professional Services to develop and deliver relevant offerings that address desired customer needs
  • Develop a current understanding of Animal Health products, industry trends, and competitor landscape
  • Articulate and communicate relevant customer, industry, product, and market trends appropriately through the organization
  • Develop and meet learning and development objectives agreed upon with leadership

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years sales experience
  • Excellent interpersonal/communication and presentation skills
  • Demonstrated motivation and focus on achieving measurable, tangible results
  • Commitment to collaboration and problem-solving
  • Demonstrated understanding of position's contribution to business goals and adaptability to meet customer needs
  • Demonstrated ability to independently understand customers’ evolving needs and drive results
  • Effective application of selling techniques and approaches, managing multiple accounts simultaneously
  • Demonstrated ability to identify, develop and manage a diverse mix of accounts independently within a territory
  • Proficient computer skills including working knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint and iPad usage
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to travel overnight and some weekend activity

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Minimum 5 years sales experience

Nice to Have

  • Sales experience and/or experience within the Animal Health Industry
  • Knowledge of animal health biological and pharmaceutical products
  • Understanding or prior experience working with Distribution
