This role involves leading the Organizational Development and Talent Management program for the California Franchise Tax Board, supporting 7000 employees. The director will manage talent management, enterprise procedures, training, workforce planning, and all facets of organizational change management. Responsibilities include developing and implementing policies and procedures as a member of the senior management team.
Responsibilities
- Efficiently and effectively manage the department’s Organizational Development and Talent Management program
- Oversee Talent Management, Enterprise Procedures and Training, Workforce Planning, and Organizational Change Management
- Develop and implement policy and procedures related to Talent Management and Organizational Change Management programs
Nice to Have
- Knowledge of interpersonal dynamics in the workplace, including workforce diversity, employee inclusion and engagement, and the need for open communication and trust
- Ability to influence others toward a common goal, by building consensus and getting buy-in from others on plans and proposals, including enlisting third party support
- Willingness to keep managers, staff and others informed about progress and problems
- Knowledge of the management principles for effective recruitment, selection, development and retention of competent staff; includes making appropriate assignments and managing staff performance
- Ability to engage staff in a collaborative way to empower them and create a positive work environment and increase productivity
- Has a sense of accountability, fulfills obligations and commitments made to others, keeps confidences and avoids gossip
