Director of Financial Reporting

About This Role

Lead the global external reporting function for a publicly traded, multinational organization, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of financial disclosures. Oversee SEC reporting, technical accounting, and financial governance processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead the preparation, review, and filing of all SEC reports, including Forms 10-K, 10-Q, 8-K, and other required disclosures
• Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP, SEC regulations, and internal financial policies
• Oversee the preparation of quarterly earnings materials and support Investor Relations with financial data and analysis
• Manage XBRL tagging and quality control for all filings
• Research, interpret, and implement new accounting standards and regulatory changes
• Serve as the subject-matter expert on complex accounting areas such as revenue recognition, business combinations, impairments, and stock-based compensation
• Develop and maintain global accounting policies and ensure consistent application across business units
• Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing financial reporting team
• Collaborate with FP&A, Treasury, Tax, Legal, and business unit finance teams to ensure accurate and complete financial information
• Support strategic initiatives, including M&A activity, system implementations, and process transformation projects

Requirements

• 8+ years of progressive experience in accounting or financial reporting
• CPA required
• Deep knowledge of U.S. GAAP, SEC reporting requirements, and SOX compliance
• Exceptional analytical, communication, and leadership skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 8+ years of progressive experience in accounting or financial reporting, ideally with a mix of Big Four public accounting and corporate reporting experience

Nice to Have

• Experience working in a large, global, publicly traded company
• Previous experience with ERP systems such as SAP and Oracle
• Previous experience with accounting consolidation tools such as HFM
