This role involves overseeing all inventory operations at the Mojave, CA site and other outside warehouses, ensuring compliance with procedures and maximizing product availability. The manager will lead a team, implement inventory management processes, and maintain accuracy to support the business.
Responsibilities
- Manage Mojave and other outside warehouses in compliance with procedures
- Develop and implement sound inventory management processes
- Maintain inventory accuracy by performing cycle counts
- Identify and disposition aged and damaged products
- Ensure rotation of stock to prevent expired shelf life issues
- Use metrics to analyze performance related to inventory accuracy
- Plan and control all inventory and related transactions to maximize product availability
- Undertake Physical inventory responsibilities
- Ensure proper people management, team building and engagement responsibilities
- Maintain knowledge of working capital and critical KPIs such as inventory turns and days on hand
- Establish correct staffing levels and mentor employees
- Conduct safety meetings for employee awareness and growth
- Ensure warehouse inventories are maintained in a saleable condition and recorded
- Manage warehousing and clerical activities to support PPG's requirements
- Analyze activities impacted and communicate results to all users and internal customer teams
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience in inventory management, operations supply chain or similar roles
- Previous experience working in a production or manufacturing environment
- Direct people management experience
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, engineering or related degree preferred
- 4+ years of experience in inventory management, operations supply chain, or similar roles
