About This Role

The Directional Drill Locator plays a crucial role in accurately determining the location and depth of drilling operations to meet project specifications and safety standards. This role involves utilizing advanced technology and equipment to optimize drilling efficiency and minimize environmental impact, working closely with drilling crews and project managers.

Responsibilities

• Avoid damage to existing underground facilities
• Maintain a constant focus on operating in a safe working environment
• Utilize knowledge and experience with locating equipment
• Verify all underground mark outs and utilities
• Accurately track drill heads during operations
• Collaborate effectively with drilling teams and convey critical information in real-time
• Maintain precise records and ensure compliance with project specifications
• Problem-solve challenges that arise during drilling for timely adjustments
• Perform manual labor functions, walk on uneven ground, and work in tight spaces
• Operate equipment to the satisfaction of the construction supervision

Requirements

• Proficiency in using locating equipment
• Strong communication skills
• Attention to detail
• Problem-solving skills
• Working knowledge of underground construction
• Ability to perform physically demanding manual labor in an all-weather environment
• Ability to travel throughout multiple work sites

Nice to Have

• Experience with Vermeer F2 or equal trackers
• CDL Class A with Tanker Endorsement
