About This Role

Manage the comprehensive medical nutritional care for patients at Brigham and Women’s Center for Weight Management and Wellness. This role involves providing nutrition assessment, developing care plans, and educating patients in both individual and group settings.

Responsibilities

  • Provide patient support and education aimed at improving and enhancing health and weight outcomes, in both individual and group settings
  • Communicate with multidisciplinary staff regarding nutrition- or health-related issues influencing patient progress
  • Participate in program events, including group sessions, classes, information sessions, and support groups
  • Prepare patient education materials to distribute to patients
  • Document, monitor, and communicate nutrition care plans through written and verbal systems, documenting in medical records based on established standards
  • Develop and implement nutrition plan of care for patients based on assessment of nutritional needs, physician's orders, and clinical data
  • Counsel, educate, and develop resources and materials for patient and family education on prescribed therapeutic diets
  • Partner with food service staff to ensure meals, supplements, and nutrition support is provided

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree Clinical Dietitian
  • Completed Internship
  • Knowledge of metabolism in relation to clinical nutrition
  • Knowledge of food chemistry and macro/micronutrient composition of foods
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to effectively evaluate and problem solve
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to guide, teach, and motivate all patient age populations

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree Clinical Dietitian
  • Completed Internship, one year of experience in counseling and behavior modification techniques is preferred

Nice to Have

  • One year of experience in counseling and behavior modification techniques

Certifications

Registered Dietitian (RD) (Required) Heartsaver CPR AED Certification [CPR] (Required) Registered Dietitican Nutritionist [RDN] (Required)
