Dietetic Assistant - Trayline

About This Role

This position ensures patients receive accurate, efficient, and satisfactory meal delivery, acting as a direct liaison for patient satisfaction within the Nutrition and Food Services department. The role also involves assisting higher-level personnel in maintaining a clean work area, with work routinely reviewed for adherence to sanitary standards and completion of assignments.

Responsibilities

• Deliver food trays, nourishments, and snacks to patients in a timely manner
• Assist with tray preparation during meal service hours
• Adhere to all safety, sanitation, health, and privacy standards required by the department
• Carry items from the storeroom and coolers to work stations, and transfer food and equipment to appropriate storage areas
• Communicate with patients regarding meal tickets, accuracy, and other relevant information
• Maintain compliance with JCAHO, State Health Department, and OSHA regarding ongoing required job training and health standards
• Use proper protocol, including wearing required PPE and hand sanitation, to prevent contamination
• Maintain clean work areas and equipment utilized during the shift
• Aid in dirty tray removal and retrieval, as needed
• Perform quality assurance activities, such as monitoring satisfaction surveys
• Maintain a professional demeanor when interacting with all patients, visitors, and staff

Requirements

• One (1) year of experience with food service or customer service experience OR hospital clinical dietetics

Qualifications

• One (1) year of experience with food service or customer service experience OR hospital clinical dietetics

Nice to Have

• Current ServSafe certification
• Previous experience in similar roles or in a hospital setting
