About This Role

Join Quinte Health as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer to perform a diverse range of ultrasound exams, including general, obstetric, vascular, musculoskeletal, and interventional procedures, with opportunities for career advancement and specialized training.

Responsibilities

  • Perform all general and special ultrasound procedures such as MSK and vascular imaging according to the Standards of Practice
  • Ensure adequate level of products and supplies to support daily operations
  • Archive/retrieve data to/from PACS
  • Report equipment deficiencies to the Charge Technologist/Manager
  • Instruct students during clinical rotation when required and participate in evaluating student’s progress
  • Report to the radiologist any unusual or inconsistent findings arising during scanning procedures
  • Assist in the orientation and training of new technologists
  • Participate in continuing education to increase professional growth and development
  • Take on-call rotation with other sonographers as scheduled
  • Assist clerical staff with booking urgent ultrasound examinations

Requirements

  • Possess valid liability insurance as defined by the CMRITO, or eligible to obtain liability insurance upon registration
  • Initiative, organizational, and decision-making skills
  • Strong computer skills
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to deal courteously and effectively with physicians, patients, and other members of the healthcare team
  • Capable of coping with a physically demanding workload
  • Available to work all shifts including weekends, statutory holidays, and on call

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited program of Medical Imaging – Diagnostic Medical Sonography
  • Entry level, open to new and future graduates

Member in good standing of the College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario (CMRITO) (Required) Current registration with Sonography Canada, or eligibility upon graduation (Required)
