DevOps Software Engineer III

About This Role

This role involves leading software integration, developing framework solutions, and maintaining automated infrastructure for highly available and scalable HPC systems in a Linux environment. The engineer will also optimize system performance and streamline deployment pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Lead software integration efforts
• Develop framework solutions
• Maintain automated infrastructure solutions to ensure high availability and scalability of HPC systems in a Linux environment
• Work closely with various stakeholders to streamline the deployment pipeline
• Optimize system performance

Requirements

• Active TS/SCI + FS Polygraph clearance
• Experience using the Linux CLI
• Experience writing scripts using Shell/Bash/Python
• Linux administration experience including software integration, service management, configuration management, and routine sustainment operations related to provisioning, storage, and networking
• Experience installing, configuring, and supporting COTS/GOTS/FOSS software, libraries, and packages in a Linux environment
• Extensive software development experience with Java and Python
• Experience with stream/batch Big Data processing and analytic frameworks
• Experience with CI/CD principles, methodologies, and tools such as GitLab CI
• Experience with IaC (Infrastructure as Code) principles and automation infrastructure provisioning and configuration using tools such as Ansible
• Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker
• Experience deploying containerized services under Kubernetes orchestration
• Demonstrated experience using system monitoring tools such as Prometheus/Grafana
• Experience with Git for source code management, branching strategies, and team collaboration

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university OR Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university
• 5+ years of experience as a Software Engineer (SWE) with a Master's degree, 7+ years with a Bachelor's degree, or 9+ years as an SWE without a specific degree.

Nice to Have

• Experience with the Atlassian Tool Suite (JIRA, Confluence)
