Dental Hygienist

About This Role

This role is for a patient-focused, energetic Registered Dental Hygienist who is committed to providing exceptional care and promoting lifelong oral health within a collaborative team environment.

Responsibilities

• Deliver thorough hygiene treatment, including prophylaxis, scaling, and root planing, using gentle techniques
• Administer local anesthetics and apply cavity-preventive agents like fluorides and sealants as permitted by state law
• Act as a primary educator, counseling patients on proper oral hygiene and nutrition, and helping to manage patient anxiety during treatment
• Maintain accurate periodontal charts, medical histories, and treatment records
• Securely manage patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations and office policies
• Efficiently manage operatory duties, including room turnover, disinfection, sterilization of instruments, and daily preparation
• Maintain hygiene supply inventory and submit orders

Requirements

• Current license to practice as a Dental Hygienist in the state
• Completion of at least two years of post-secondary education from an accredited dental hygiene program
• Proven experience in providing prophylaxis
• Proven experience in taking X-rays
• Excellent verbal skills
• Good interpersonal skills
