Delivery Specialist

About This Role

The Delivery Specialist will operate and maintain company vehicles to deliver automotive parts and products to professional customers in a safe and efficient manner. This role involves processing deliveries, collecting payments, picking up returns, and ensuring vehicle maintenance while occasionally assisting with in-store customer service and merchandising.

Responsibilities

• Operate company vehicles to deliver parts and products to customers safely and efficiently
• Use delivery fleet management hand-held devices to process deliveries, capture customer signatures, and update vehicle mileage
• Complete daily vehicle inspections prior to operation
• Keep delivery vehicles, keys, fuel/fleet credit cards, hand-held devices, and collected monies secure
• Pick up customer returns (new, warranty, cores) and complete driver return slips
• Communicate customer problems or special needs to store management
• Report vehicle maintenance needs, accidents, or damage to the store manager immediately
• Ensure fuel tank is filled and lock and secure vehicle at the end of the day
• Assist customers, serve as a cashier, or help with merchandising tasks when business dictates
• Perform general stocking, straightening stock, merchandising, and handling core returns

Requirements

• Ability to quickly match alphanumeric sequences
• Strong interpersonal communication skills
• Ability to adapt quickly and effectively to changing delivery situations
• Driving record must meet company's 14/18-point record system standard
• Legally required state driver's license and meet company mandated driving eligibility requirements

Nice to Have

• Familiarity with automotive parts
• Ability to operate other light store equipment
• Fluency in multiple languages (Spanish is highly desired)
