Delivery Specialist

About This Role

Operate and maintain company vehicles to deliver automotive parts and products to professional customers. This role also involves collecting payments and handling customer returns, while ensuring vehicle safety and cleanliness.

Responsibilities

• Operate company vehicles to deliver parts and products to customers in a safe and efficient manner
• Use delivery fleet management hand-held devices to process deliveries, capture customer signatures, and update vehicle mileage
• Complete daily vehicle inspections prior to operating and maintain vehicle cleanliness
• Collect money on C.O.D. deliveries and pick up customer returns
• Keep delivery vehicles, keys, fuel/fleet credit cards, hand-held devices, and collected monies secure
• Communicate customer problems or special needs to store management
• Report vehicle maintenance needs, accidents, or damage to store manager immediately
• Ensure fuel tank is filled and secure vehicle at end of day's business
• May occasionally assist customers, serve as a cashier, and/or help with merchandising tasks

Requirements

• Ability to quickly match alphanumeric sequences
• Strong interpersonal communication skills
• Ability to adapt quickly and effectively to changing delivery situations
• Driving record must meet company's 14/18-point record system standard
• Must possess a legally required state driver's license and meet company mandated driving eligibility requirements

Nice to Have

• Familiar with automotive parts
• Ability to operate other light store equipment
• Fluency in multiple languages (Spanish is highly desired)
