Deli Shift Supervisor

About This Role

Lead the Deli team to provide excellent customer service and high-quality products, ensuring operational effectiveness and fostering a positive team atmosphere within Cosentino's Price Chopper.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct supervision of Deli team activities in the absence of the Deli Manager and Asst. Deli Manager
• Promote a positive team atmosphere with cooperation, teamwork, and recognition
• Support management in coaching, corrective actions, and performance evaluations
• Resolve customer complaints professionally and escalate when necessary
• Implement Cosentino’s Customer Service Standards
• Effectively manage inventory through accurate counting, tracking, planning, and ordering
• Promote new items and weekly specials through merchandising and creative displays
• Answer customer questions accurately, demonstrating knowledge of department products, procedures, and policies
• Meet or exceed productivity standards for team and individual results
• Inspect product for freshness, damage, and dates, utilizing proper rotation techniques
• Remove damaged, unsaleable, or returnable product and follow proper damage claim procedures
• Label and price merchandise, and obtain price signs when necessary
• Operate, clean, and maintain all equipment safely and competently
• Comply with and ensure team compliance with all health regulations, sanitation guidelines, and safety procedures
• Maintain a clean and safe work area for customers and coworkers

Requirements

• Food handling permit (within 14 days of employment)
• 1+ year of experience in retail, deli, or food service management
• Strong verbal and interpersonal skills
• Basic math and reading skills

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• 1+ year of previous experience in retail, deli or food service management
