Assistant Produce Manager

About This Role

Lead and support the Produce team to ensure customers receive excellent service and high-quality products, while promoting company growth and maintaining operational effectiveness.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct supervision to the Produce team in the absence of the Produce Manager
• Promote a positive team atmosphere, cooperation, and teamwork
• Support the Produce Manager in providing coaching, corrective actions, and performance evaluations
• Assist the Produce Manager in addressing employee relations issues and collaborate with HR
• Resolve customer complaints professionally and escalate when necessary
• Implement and adhere to Cosentino Customer Service Standards
• Effectively manage inventory processes, including counting, tracking, planning, and ordering
• Promote new items and weekly specials through merchandising and creative displays
• Maintain knowledge of department products, procedures, and policies to answer customer questions
• Inspect product for freshness, damage, and dates, utilizing proper rotation techniques

Requirements

• Food handling permit within 14 days of employment
• 1 year of previous experience in retail produce management
• Strong verbal and interpersonal skills
• Basic math and reading skills

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• A minimum of 1 year of previous experience in retail produce management is required.
