Data Engineer

About This Role

This role involves building systems, infrastructure, and pipelines that directly support Data Science and AI initiatives across the enterprise for MassMutual. You will work within the Research and Development organization to influence technical strategies and operationalize AI solutions.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with AI Engineers and Data Scientists to define strategies for data ingestion and cloud infrastructure
• Design and implement reusable software libraries and components to accelerate organizational development
• Provide technical leadership for large-scale initiatives while promoting engineering best practices and high-quality delivery
• Implement infrastructure-as-code to support platform scalability, reliability, and security remediation
• Lead complex problem-solving efforts to deliver resilient and maintainable backend systems and API services

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience building complex software systems, pipelines, and backend services
• 7+ years of professional software development experience using Python
• 5+ years of experience with AWS cloud services including EKS, EC2, and Lambda
• 5+ years of experience developing backend applications and API services
• Proven ability to guide architectural decisions and lead medium to large technical initiatives

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience building complex software systems, pipelines, and backend services, with 7+ years of professional software development experience using Python and 5+ years with AWS cloud services and developing backend applications and API services.
