About This Role

This role involves providing lead-level public, front-line, and counter support for processing various permit applications and complaints. It includes preparing routine correspondence, managing program supplies, handling cash and payment processing, and assisting with data entry for complaints.

Responsibilities

  • Provide full performance lead level public, front-line, counter support
  • Process a variety of permit applications and complaints, including food service, retail marijuana, temporary food, noise, pool/spa, beauty/barber shop, and pesticide applicator permits
  • Respond to general public questions and complaints regarding AMC 10, 15, and 16
  • Prepare routine correspondence letters
  • Manage program supplies
  • Assure strict security and receive/track cash, checks, and credit card payments
  • Operate cash register and prepare daily activity and cash summary reports
  • Collect daily receipts and deposit in the safe, and reconcile division revenues
  • Assist in initial response and data entry of various complaints including those about restaurants, housing, pests, smoking, noise, and food borne illness

Requirements

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
  • 3 years of experience in processing permit or license applications
  • 1 year of experience as a Permit Clerk II or equivalent
  • State of Alaska Notary Public Commission within three (3) months of hire

Qualifications

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
  • Three (3) years of experience in processing permit or license applications, including one (1) year of experience as a Permit Clerk II with the Municipality of Anchorage, or the equivalent elsewhere.
