This role involves performing customer service duties at Ports of Entry, interpreting and communicating state and federal motor vehicle codes, and ensuring compliance and safety within Arizona's transportation network.
Responsibilities
- Perform a variety of customer service activities at the Ports of Entry/offices
- Interpret and communicate provisions of state and federal motor vehicle codes related to size/weight
- Screen and weigh or assist with weighing commercial vehicles
- Provide face-to-face customer contact
- Examine vehicle registrations and other documents for authenticity
- Issue permits and calculate/collect appropriate fees and taxes
- Complete associated cash reconciliations and ensure security of cash receipts
- Regulate commercial vehicle traffic entering and exiting the State through permit issuance
- Answer various inquiries about motor vehicle administrative rules, regulations, federal and state statutes, policies, and procedures
- Resolve customer issues, problems, and concerns
Requirements
- 2+ years administrative and/or operations support experience
- Knowledge of Police Department functions, objectives, rules, and regulations applicable to law enforcement
- Knowledge of practices of computer applications and software (Spillman Cad RMS, Query Analyzer, Livescan, Armani)
- Knowledge of Federal OSHA, State and County regulations and policies regarding safe work practices
- Knowledge of Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance (CVSA) laws, Arizona Police Officer Standards and Training (AZ Post Rules)
- Knowledge of EPro/Transport, Arizona Management System, and ADOT software used in ESB
- Ability to read, comprehend, and interpret detailed, complex written material
- Ability to conduct research and compile findings
- Ability to handle complex, sensitive, and confidential materials simultaneously
- Ability to prioritize work assignments and meet deadlines, resolve issues, and be tactful but diplomatic
