Customer Service Representative

About This Role

This role involves responding to customer inquiries, processing orders, resolving complaints, and providing expert product, pricing, and shipping information to customers for a manufacturing company. The representative will ensure customer satisfaction and support sales initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Respond to customer inquiries both in person and over the phone
• Maintain system information including product pricing and availability
• Enter customer orders and suggest additional products
• Provide technical assistance to customers when needed
• Contact truck run customers for orders and ensure timely placement
• Make same-day follow-up calls regarding backorders and delivery dates
• Actively participate in company-defined sales initiatives
• Research customer service complaints and answer customer questions
• Consult with management for direction to resolve complaints
• Research customer warranty and/or return requests, completing appropriate documentation
• Track shipments as necessary

Requirements

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• High school diploma or equivalent
• One or more years of customer service experience
• Excellent computer and phone skills
• Strong customer service skills
• Ability to develop product knowledge to specify and recommend appropriate products
