About This Role

This role involves preparing and serving high-quality meals for residents, ensuring sanitary conditions are maintained, and overseeing the dining experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepare high quality meals according to standardized recipes and techniques
• Use and direct the use of accurate portion control standards
• Ensure that sanitary conditions are maintained in the kitchen at all times
• Check all menus daily to verify that all necessary items are prepared as needed
• Store leftovers properly according to food handling standards
• Operate equipment in a correct, safe, sanitary and respectful manner
• Supervise the entire dining experience to ensure resident satisfaction of meal service
• Check temperatures of food products and document in temperature log
• Clean equipment and work area to ensure safety and sanitation standards are met
• Inventory and order food products, ensuring adequate inventory of items on hand
• Oversee catering events, ensuring quality, safety, and presentation of catered meals
• Organize and plan work schedule to meet times for serving meals
• Prioritize and shift workload in the event of staff shortages
• Prompt and direct servers to deliver timely meal service
• Interact appropriately with staff to correct or accommodate immediate concerns or problems

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED equivalent is preferred.
• 1-3 years of previous culinary experience is preferred.

• Completion of food safety and sanitation course or ability to become certified with ServSafe or similar program
