About This Role

Walden Security is seeking experienced Court Security Officers to provide armed security to courthouses under the USMS contract in Honolulu, HI. The role involves performing entrance control, patrols, stationary post assignments, and escort duties to ensure the safety and security of the facility and personnel.

Responsibilities

  • Perform entrance control by operating security screening equipment to detect weapons, contraband, and prohibited items.
  • Patrol court facilities and grounds in accordance with applicable post orders.
  • Stand guard at stationary posts, including monitoring closed-circuit television and security equipment.
  • Provide armed escort services for judges, court personnel, jurors, and other designated individuals.
  • Direct traffic and control lights on court facility properties where applicable.
  • Enforce federal law, including detaining individuals attempting unauthorized access or committing imperiling acts.
  • Prepare various reports and records regarding contract performance issues, accidents, or unlawful acts.
  • Secure unattended courtrooms, inspect courtrooms prior to proceedings, and test security devices.
  • Preserve order in the courtroom, enforce federal law and judicial orders, and protect court proceedings.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 3+ years of verifiable experience as a certified law enforcement officer or military equivalent within the last 7 years
  • Experience must have included general arrest authority
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
  • Ability to understand, explain, interpret, and apply rules, regulations, directives, and procedures
  • Valid driver's license
  • Clearance from the Department of Justice
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check
  • Meet medical standards as specified by the United States Marshal Service (USMS)

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • At least 3 calendar years of verifiable experience as a certified law enforcement officer or military equivalency (Master-at-Arms, CGPD, Security Forces Specialist, etc.) within the last seven years, including general arrest authority.
