This role involves counseling and aiding clients with behavioral health diagnoses and criminal justice involvement. The Court Liaison advocates for clients through court appearances and helps them understand program requirements, providing crucial support on their journey to mental health and wellness.
Responsibilities
- Counsel and aid clients with behavioral health diagnoses and criminal justice involvement
- Advocate for and guide clients through court appearances, ensuring understanding of program requirements
- Assist clients in understanding the levels of choice in the Mental Health Court process
- Advocate for clients in all areas of treatment and across settings
- Meet with clients in jail, hospital, or residence as indicated
- Accompany clients to all court-related proceedings or meetings
- Refer clients to other support services as needed, such as medical evaluation/treatment, housing, and employment services
- Assist clients with obtaining proof of illness or other situation for court-related absences
- Monitor the condition of clients to evaluate treatment success
- Prepare and complete reports and all other paperwork as assigned in a timely manner
- Provide after-hours and "on-call" coverage to program clients
- Transport clients and drive on program business
- Attend all team and agency staff meetings
