This role will advise Amazon's Privacy Legal team on policies and practices for the collection, storage, and use of personal information across all Amazon's business lines in the United States and internationally. You'll help chart the company's long-term strategy for handling customer information across retail operations, online advertising, electronic devices, and other business areas. This role works directly with teams building privacy compliance infrastructure for Amazon and its subsidiaries, partnering closely with public policy, public relations, and business teams.
Responsibilities
- Advise business leaders and legal teams on global privacy laws and regulations (GDPR, CCPA, etc.)
- Counsel on privacy compliance for new product development and service launches
- Partner with cross-functional teams to implement privacy-by-design principles and data governance frameworks
- Support the development and implementation of privacy policies and practices
- Collaborate with public policy and communications teams to explain privacy practices to regulators and customers
- Provide strategic guidance on evolving data protection regulations and their impact on business operations
Requirements
- 5+ years of legal experience
- Juris Doctor and membership in one state bar or equivalent
- Experience in Privacy Law

- Experience of a mix of corporate law firm and in-house work
- Experience in Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning (AI/ML) Standards Law
