Corporate Counsel

About This Role

Join a fast-growing legal team as Corporate Counsel, reporting to the Assistant General Counsel. This role involves broad responsibility for commercial, legal, governance, risk, and compliance matters, supporting the company's growth and strategic initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Provide support and establish positive relationships with various business partners, including operations, customer support, and sales, to advise on legal issues throughout the business lifecycle
• Maintain the company’s core agreements with customers and key partners, including master services agreements for EPC partners
• Structure, draft, and negotiate complex commercial agreements and key vendor contracts
• Counsel and oversee compliance for a broad range of regulatory and licensing matters, including all business, trade, and other required licenses for the company or its employees
• Implement and oversee systems and processes to efficiently scale the legal team’s capabilities
• Collaborate with internal business partners to assess legal compliance and provide practical advice and day-to-day support to internal stakeholders regarding legal risks, business strategies, and general legal matters
• Collaborate across all functions to deliver sound and actionable legal advice to effectively achieve business objectives while protecting the company's interests
• Identify, manage, and resolve consumer escalations consistent with the company's business philosophy and strategy; manage litigation, arbitration, and other disputes as needed
• Develop and present training to various personnel throughout the organization, drive awareness of legal compliance, and risk management guidelines

Requirements

• Juris doctorate from an accredited law school
• Admitted to at least one state bar in the U.S.
• 5+ years of legal experience in regulated businesses

Qualifications

• Juris doctorate from an accredited law school
• 5 or more years of legal experience in regulated businesses; in-house counsel experience is highly preferred
