This role is responsible for developing and executing recreational sports outreach programs in Indiana University's Residence Halls. It involves supervising student staff, coordinating campus events, and collaborating with various university partners to engage students in recreational activities.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute Recreational Sports Outreach programs in Residence Halls
- Establish personal engagement plans for internal and campus-wide events, including a summer program for incoming freshmen
- Hire and train all part-time staff, including program assistants, outreach assistants, and student orientation leaders
- Supervise 1-2 program assistants, 12 outreach assistants, and 15 student orientation sneak peek leaders
- Develop strategy for connecting residence hall students with Recreational Sports programs
- Coordinate partnership with Residence Hall Association (RHA), propose funding bills, and present budget/participation analysis
- Evaluate shift reports from hourly employees to assess outreach effectiveness and adjust as needed
- Provide oversight and innovation to Rec Connect, fostering communities around activities
- Assist in the development, implementation, and assessment of department-wide relational service initiatives
- Monitor budget, track hourly staff hours and equipment inventory, and submit equipment proposals
- Assist with special events such as RecFest, Thursday Night Lights, and Fall Hourly Staff Training
- Serve as an on-site professional staff member during assigned shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science, Recreation, Sports Management, or related field
- 2 years of related experience with structured recreational programming
- Proficient communication skills
- Ability to maintain a high degree of professionalism

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science, Recreation, Sports Management, or related field.
- 2 years of related experience with structured recreational programming.
Nice to Have
- Master's degree in Exercise Science, Recreation, Sports Management, or related field
- Experience working within recreational sports, sports, fitness, and/or special events in a collegiate setting, with a student development model
- Experience working with student employees, student organizations and event planning in a collegiate setting
- Program evaluation and training development experience
