Continuous Improvement Project Manager

About This Role

Lead continuous improvement activities and manage projects in a manufacturing environment to resolve safety, quality, cost, and throughput issues. This role requires identifying needs, defining scope, measuring progress, and educating teams on lean processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead continuous improvement activities for site leadership
• Review and provide solutions for safety, quality, cost, and throughput issues
• Verify standard work procedures and correct issues
• Responsible for successful identification, development, and execution of projects to drive process metrics and financial benefits
• Define project scope and measure/report progress on active projects
• Train and educate associates and teams on innovative thinking and lean processes
• Document projects thoroughly for knowledge sharing and financial analysis
• Manage project administration including direction, implementation, cost/benefit analysis, scheduling, and resource allocation
• Define customer requirements using tools like PFMEA, process flow mapping, control plan documentation, and Capability Analysis
• Review and proactively study KPIs to prevent substandard product and work with Quality and Operations to find permanent corrective actions for customer complaints

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment with a process and product improvement focus or Operations Leadership in a lean production environment
• Minimum of 5 years in a Continuous Improvement role
• In-depth knowledge of formalized lean manufacturing practices and tools
• Strong Project Management and execution skills
• Structured and organized
• Strong team player / ability to build collaborative relationships
• Strong analytical, computational, and problem solving skills
• Strong business acumen

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, preferably Mechanical, Electrical or Industrial Engineering is a plus
• 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment with a process and product improvement focus or Operations Leadership in a lean production environment in a high volume production environment with a minimum of 5 years in a Continuous Improvement role.
