Protect public health by ensuring the safety of the Nation's commercial supply of meat, poultry, and processed egg products through inspections and adherence to food safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Apply proper techniques for collecting samples and performing field tests and examinations
- Identify abnormalities in products or production environments and recommend corrective actions
- Develop written reports and/or report findings of results orally
- Maintain effective personal contacts with a variety of individuals regarding food safety standards
Requirements
- Knowledge of properties and characteristics of regulated food commodities or other products for human consumption
- Experience applying proper techniques for collecting samples and/or performing field tests and examinations
- Experience developing written reports and/or reporting findings of results orally
- Skill in maintaining effective personal contacts with individuals regarding food safety standards
