Oversee the delivery of large-scale datacenter construction projects, manage vendor relationships, and drive risk mitigation strategies. This role requires effective leadership to influence internal and external partners, ensuring on-time delivery of complex global construction projects.
Responsibilities
- Monitor approved project budgets and oversee project controls (PERs, PSRs, change orders, pay apps), identifying risks and recommending adjustments to maintain financial discipline
- Facilitate delivery of campus and metro-based construction projects through timely, data driven decision-making in partnership with local teams and stakeholders
- Partner with CO+I and key Microsoft stakeholders to drive adoption of updated processes, improving cost savings, cycle time, and operational efficiency across programs
- Review engineering documentation, designs, and site plans; identify gaps and risks; and provide recommendations that improve constructability
- Represent Microsoft as a safety advocate by establishing risk mitigation metrics, supporting national safety goals, ensuring regulatory compliance (e.g., OSHA), conducting audits, and contributing to incident investigations
- Oversee procurement and resourcing activities, evaluate staffing and material needs, and monitor vendor performance for compliance, financial accuracy, and contractual obligations
- Assist in tracking and reporting project progress across scope, schedule, standards, and budget, synthesizing complex data into clear updates for delivery and executive audiences
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Construction Project Management, Architecture, Engineering, or related field AND 5+ years related experience OR equivalent experience
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Construction Project Management, Architecture, Engineering, or related field
- 5+ years related experience, with 7+ years experience preferred in data center projects
Nice to Have
- Bachelor's Degree in Construction Project Management, Architecture, Engineering, or related field AND 8+ years related experience OR equivalent experience
- 7+ years experience working on data center projects
