About This Role

D & R EARTHMOVING LLC in Whitmore Lake, MI is seeking a full-time, union (OE 324) Heavy Equipment Operator. You will operate heavy equipment, perform excavation, grading, and site preparation tasks, ensuring safety and efficiency in all operations. Leadership responsibilities include managing a team, translating blueprints into daily tasks, and monitoring project progress.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, loaders, and bulldozers for excavation, grading, and site preparation tasks
• Perform equipment maintenance and troubleshoot issues
• Ensure the safety and efficiency of operations at all times, complying with safety standards
• Effectively collaborate with team members
• Manage a team of operators and laborers
• Translate blueprints and site plans into daily tasks, coordinating day-to-day operations
• Monitor daily progress, track project schedule, soil quantities, materials utilized, and man-hours
• Work alongside a Project Manager

Requirements

• Proficiency in Equipment Operation and Heavy Equipment management
• Experience with Excavation activities and Used Equipment operations
• Skills in Equipment Maintenance and troubleshooting
• Familiarity with safety protocols and the ability to follow project guidelines
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work in physically demanding environments
• Proficient in translating blueprints and site plans to understand the scope of work
• Valid driver’s license and any relevant certifications for operating heavy machinery

Qualifications

• Previous experience in construction or a related field is preferred.
