The Community Mortgage Bank Sales Consultant originates mortgage loans within assigned bank branches, collaborates with branch leadership, and mentors colleagues on mortgage products. This role focuses on understanding customer needs, processing loan applications, and maintaining high client satisfaction while adhering to compliance requirements.
Responsibilities
- Originate mortgage loans within assigned bank branches
- Collaborate with branch leadership and participate in branch huddles
- Mentor and coach employees to increase knowledge of mortgage products and processes
- Conduct outbound calls to existing and prospective customers regarding mortgage loan products
- Interact with customers to understand their needs and provide high-quality customer service
- Process loan applications for mortgage transactions and review rates and terms within guidelines
- Maintain high standards of client satisfaction through timely and proactive customer communication
- Continuously pursue Wells Fargo training to increase product, policy, procedure, and underwriting knowledge
- Adhere to policies, underwriting requirements, and compliance requirements
- Collaborate with fulfillment partners to meet client needs throughout the origination process
Requirements
- 2+ years of sales experience or equivalent
- Willingness to travel
- Reliable transportation
- Ability to work nights, weekends, or holidays as needed
- Meet Consumer Financial Protection Bureau qualification requirements for Loan Originator (LO) positions
- SAFE registration at time of employment
Qualifications
- 2+ years of sales experience, or equivalent demonstrated through work experience, training, military experience, or education
Nice to Have
- 2+ years of mortgage retail sales experience
- Expertise in general lending products and overall mortgage industry
- Experience with retail residential mortgage, purchase fundings over the past 12 months from established sources
- Established relationships with diverse realtor organizations and affordable lending nonprofits
- Experience with community loan products, LMI mortgage solutions, and assistance programs
- FHA/VA & conventional loan experience
- Knowledge and understanding of sales prospecting and generating referrals
- Experience with educating clients on various mortgage purchase programs
- Experience developing and cultivating professional relationships
- Customer service experience
- Basic Microsoft Office skills
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to provide leadership by coaching, training, and mentoring
- Bilingual speaking proficiency in Spanish/English
