Commercial Relationship Manager

About This Role

Manage the full spectrum of new business development activities focusing on Commercial Lending for NBT Bank. Evaluate loan applications, maintain a loan portfolio, and build strong customer relationships while ensuring compliance with banking policies and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Develop a loan portfolio through new business development activities, handling a range of business relationships with borrowing, depository, and Trust needs.
• Maintain awareness and adherence to Bank policy as well as Federal/State regulations affecting Commercial Lending.
• Evaluate loan applications and make recommendations to higher approval authority after analyzing borrower capacity, financial data, industry trends, collateral position, and management ability.
• Maintain and service a loan portfolio including the timely gathering of financial data and keeping contact with customers.
• Properly document borrower status through file write-ups.
• Seek advice and guidance from more experienced lending Officers throughout the loan underwriting, approval, and closure process.

Requirements

• 5-7 years lending experience
• Strong accounting and credit analysis background
• Strong oral, written and listening skills
• Ability to attain/exceed goals
• Strong management and leadership skills
• Reliable transportation

Qualifications

• 4 year degree or related experience
• 5-7 years lending experience
